Guides that go deeper
Alongside the calculators, our blog publishes practical guides — choosing a tax regime, prepaying a home loan, SIP vs lumpsum investing and more — each paired with the calculator that lets you test the idea on your own numbers.
Why we're free
Every calculator on EMICalcs is completely free and requires no account. The site is supported by advertising, which lets us keep the tools open for everyone. We work hard to keep ads unobtrusive and the pages fast.
Who is behind this
EMICalcs is built and maintained by one person — Javeed Shaik — whose details are at the bottom of this page.
Being explicit about that matters more on a finance site than almost anywhere else. Plenty of calculator sites present themselves as an anonymous authority. This one is one person who writes the formulas, checks the statutory figures against the government sources listed on each page, and is accountable when a number is wrong. If you need advice tailored to your situation — a filing position, a large prepayment decision, anything with real money riding on it — that is a job for a qualified professional who knows your circumstances, not for a web page.
Our commitment to accuracy
Each calculator uses the standard, widely-accepted financial formula for its purpose, and every formula is covered by automated tests that run on every single deploy — the build fails outright if any of them fail. At the most recent deploy that suite was 161 test cases across 48 calculators and comparison tools.
Tests catch broken arithmetic. They cannot catch a tax threshold that changed in April. So statutory calculators — income tax, GST, TDS, gratuity, EPF, PPF and the rest — additionally carry a Sources section citing the primary government source for every figure they use, plus a dated byline. Where that byline says "Last reviewed", the figures were checked against those sources on that date. Where it says "Last updated", the page changed but its numbers have not been re-checked since. We deliberately do not let review dates advance on their own when the site rebuilds, because a date that moves by itself tells you nothing.
Real-world figures from your bank or financial institution may still differ slightly due to fees, rounding or day-count conventions. Our results are estimates to help you plan — always confirm exact figures with your provider. Our full editorial process explains how the numbers are produced, tested and corrected, and our Disclaimer covers the limits of what a calculator can tell you.
When we get something wrong
We have published mistakes, and we will publish more. When a factual error surfaces it is corrected immediately, and material errors are noted rather than quietly overwritten. If you spot a figure that looks wrong — particularly if you work with these rules professionally — please write to hello@emicalcs.com. Corrections from readers who file these returns for a living are the most valuable feedback this site gets.
Your privacy
Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. The salary, loan amount or tax figures you type are never transmitted to our servers, because there is no server-side calculation to transmit them to — you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tools still work. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture, including what our analytics and advertising partners do collect.
Get in touch
Have a suggestion, found an issue, or want a calculator we don't have yet? We'd love to hear from you — visit our Contact page or email hello@emicalcs.com. Requests for specific calculators genuinely do get built; several tools on this site exist because a reader asked for them.
